Award-winning Master Engraver Lee Griffiths created these study plates to inspire and teach hand engravers, jewelers, artists and graphic designers how to construct and execute complex scrollwork. Featuring a wide variety of scrollwork designs, Lee's examples varie from simple with minimal background to complex and intricate background work.
The study castings can be shipped clean or blackened (for an additional fee). While blackened castings are easier to see with the naked eye, the coloring can obscure individual cuts. If you are using these castings to study Lee's work, we recommend ordering the clean castings.
A perfect complement to Lee's Art & Design Fundamentals Book and DVD set.
Also available - plates can be purchased individually as the English Scroll Study Plate and the Liberty Scroll Study Plate.
Dimensions: 3.5" x 3" x .25"

Enables you see the cuts, line widths and fine engraving from master engravers. Especially with bulino. I didn't know if I was on the right path not having someone to critique my work, but with these castings, one can carefully study excellent engraving and try and replicate it.
